memorial day brunch shitake and asiago strata

2 cups stale bread cubes,4 ounces stemmed shitake mushrooms
thinly sliced, four tablespoons multi herb butter,2 cups heavy cream,3
3 large eggs, 1 cup shredded asiago cheese
preheat oven to 375f. place bread cubes in deep dish pie plate,
top with mushrooms and herb butter, mix cream eggs and cheese
in medium bowl.
pour over bread. let soak refrigerated 3 hours or overnight,
bake for 40 minutes. turn heat up to 425f and bake 5 minutes more
season with salt pepper and serve
