Easter feast this evening.
 cream of asparagus soup with morels.
rack of lamb w cranberry compote
double cheese potato gratin with caramelized onions.
lemon glazed radishes and shallots
strawberry rhubarb crisp
champagne

shitake and manchego stratta great for new years

3 cups dat old french bread in 1 inch cubes
4 ounces skitake mushrooms stemmed and thinly sliced
1 cup shredded manchego cheese
4 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon each,minced fresh chive,parsley,thyme
5 large eggs
2 cups heavy cream
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

place bread cubes in 9 inch deep dish pie plate. top with mushrooms and cheese. whisk together eggs,cream,herbs ,salt and pepper. pour over bread cubes. cover and refrigerate for 5 hours or overnite.
preheat oven to 350f and bake for 35 minutes until golden and puffy . serves 4
